USING NATURAL DYES FROM PLANTS WORKSHOP

In his workshop you will learn how to dye wool with dyes from plants.

The first part of the workshop involves walking in the woods or in the field to collect the raw material.
In spring we gather fresh leaves, in summer flowers and fruits and in autumn roots and bark. Finally in winter we… wear the fabulous accessories that we have woven and dyed with the beautiful colors of nature!

After we have gathered our ingredients, we boil them to make the colors and then we add the wool that we have properly prepared beforehand. The boiling time varies and there are no general rules as this technique requires many improvisations. The result is always a surprise, most of the times good …
